EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular

OCCUPATIONAL GROUP: Professional

REPORTS TO: Site Manager

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None



The Flight Engineer Instructor provides classroom and simulator-based instruction for C-5 flight engineers, ensuring they are prepared to operate aircraft systems safely and effectively in both normal and emergency conditions.

Essential Functions of the Position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required for a C-5 Flight Engineer Instructor. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


• Deliver academic instruction on C-5 systems, operational procedures, and emergency actions from the flight engineer perspective.

• Conduct simulator sessions emphasizing systems operations, abnormal procedures, malfunctions, and crew coordination

• Evaluate student performance and complete applicable training documentation

• Support courseware development, publications updates, safety initiatives, and quality improvements

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

The following are the requisite education and/or experience required to qualify for the position as a Flight Engineer Instructor.

  • Previously qualified as a C-5 AMP/C-5M Instructor Flight Engineer.
  • Flight experience:
  • o 1,000 C-5 flight hours, or
  • o 500 C-5 flight hours and 1,200 total flight hours (TFT) in mobility aircraft.
  • Minimum of 200 C-5 Instructor Flight Engineer hours.
  • Associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Secret security clearance
