Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is Now Hiring: School Cafeteria Monitor

Location: South Buffalo Charter School – Buffalo, NY

Pay Rate: $16.50/hour

Schedule: Part-Time | Monday–Friday | School Hours Only


Job Summary:

Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is seeking Cafeteria Monitors to supervise and support students during meal periods at South Buffalo Charter School. This role is vital in promoting a safe, respectful, and well-managed cafeteria environment — even in the midst of high energy and loud voices!


Key Responsibilities:

Supervise students during meal periods to ensure safety and respectful behavior

Monitor cafeteria lines, seating, and student movement

Assist with maintaining a clean, organized eating area (wiping tables, managing spills, etc.)

Enforce cafeteria rules and help resolve minor student issues with patience and professionalism

Provide assistance to food service staff as needed (e.g., handing out utensils, condiments)

Communicate with school staff regarding any student concerns or incidents

Model and promote respectful, positive behavior

Work effectively in a noisy, high-traffic cafeteria environment

Requirements

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience working with children preferred

Ability to remain calm, attentive, and patient in a loud, active setting

Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift

Must pass background checks in accordance with NYS and school district policies

Punctual, dependable, and able to work well as part of a team
