ABOUT THE JOB!
The Engineering Technician shall work closely with Designers, Engineers, and Management to support all aspects and phases of new product development (NPD) with a product focus on next generation Oxygen Masks and Test Sets. The technician will conduct materials research (e.g. 3D printing), perform FEA and CFD analyses, develop test methodologies & verification equipment and the productionisation process. He / she will apply technical knowledge and skills acquired from academia and on-the-job to real world engineering challenges requiring viable solutions. The Engineering Technician will further develop his / her professional communication skills by collaborating with internal and external resources necessary to achieve program objectives.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual shall possess an Associate or BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
The individual shall have a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a technical role, proficient in understanding of technical and problem-solving principles as well as experience operating electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, DMM, benchtop power supplies), and hand tools including SMT soldering tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Comfortable with hands-on work in engineering lab environment: assembly, testing, 3D printing, etc.
· Strong engineering software skills to generate SolidWorks models for FEA, CFD and other Analysis and Simulations
· Strong business software skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Office
· Knowledge on setting up data acquisition systems for the collection and extraction of test data.
· Ability to navigate, understand and operate existing test panels running on LabVIEW and / or Rockwell Automation’s FactoryTalk
· Ability to perform product testing that verifies airflow, resistance and work of breathing (WoB)
· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings with awareness of basic engineering drafting practices, principles, standards, and conventions
· Possess technical and practical knowledge in mechanical and electro-pneumatic system designs
· Detail oriented, curious, motivated, results-driven, possess strong communication and team skills
· Work under supervision, manage multiple tasks and prioritize daily activities, prepare and present technical options within the scope of the instructions, and produce accurate timely work

· Develop 3D CAD models for testing, simulations, fixtures, and communicating design concepts
· Develop digital and physical models used to verify and mature concepts and designs
· Perform various analysis to optimize the product design and fabrication technique or method
· Develop and assemble test apparatus used for verification testing
· Prototype Verification Testing
· Test Data acquisition – data reduction, graphics, analysis, conclusions & recommendations
· Support creation of Engineering test plans and reports for product verification and validation
· Fabricate, evaluate, and test prototype designs.
· Write clear and concise engineering reports to document component and product testing
· Continuous Improvement
· Support product improvement via spiral development
· Other
· Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established company ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures and work instructions
· Complete other duties as directed by Management
