About the Role

Company Description

The (Director) Medical Affairs sits within the global medical affairs and clinical development team and is responsible for developing and executing the global medical strategy and plan for the assigned product in collaboration with the rest of the global medical team, as well as supporting the necessary cross-functional workstreams, while adhering to the highest scientific and ethical standards.

 

Job Description

Included but not limited to:

  • Build and execute the Global Medical strategy, including but not limited to the following deliverables:
    • Build and execute global medical strategy and tactical plan
    • Manage engagement of global KOLs in the therapeutic area
    • Give input to clinical studies (RWE, phase IV) as required
    • Collaborate with the scientific/communication director to develop the communication strategy
    • External and internal training and training material
    • Scientific input to scientific publications
    • Support to cross-functional projects
    • Provide scientific input to the development and review of promotional material
  • To be successful in his role, the (Senior) Director Medical Affairs
    • Will possess and continue to develop significant level of knowledge on lipidology and cardiometabolic
    • Will develop productive relationships and contributions key opinion leaders and scientific societies
    • Will develop productive relationships and contributions within the cross-functional headquarter team, as well as with local affiliate offices, and collaborative partners
    • Will role model the highest scientific and ethical standards, and work in accordance with applicable rules and regulations with regards medical activities activities

 

 

Qualifications

Experience/Competencies

Required

  • Medical degree or PhD
  • Relevant global medical affairs experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry (+7 years) including proven previous global launch
  • Previous relevant experience (+5 years)  in cardiometabolic/lipidology
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic and tactical medical plans
  • Experience and ability to engage with key external stakeholders

Desired

  • Specialty in cardiology, lipidology, endocrinology

Skills/Languages

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively evaluate and analyse medical/scientific literature
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of representing the company to all audiences both internally and externally, particularly in the context of collaborations at international conferences and scientific symposia
  • Excellent organizational skills, be a self-motivated driver of best practices and processes in the management of projects and operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
