About the Role

Merchants Bank is very excited to be opening a new branch in Bloomington this Spring! As our Personal Banker, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering exceptional service and tailored financial solutions. The role focuses on processing transactions, opening accounts, and supporting branch goals while maintaining compliance and operational accuracy.  A successful Personal Banker will prioritize accuracy and efficiency in processing account transactions, opening new accounts, performing account maintenance, and handling loan transactions, while fostering strong, professional relationships with customers and collaborating effectively with colleagues.


Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. NO SATURDAYS!

Full-Time | 40 hours per week

  • Process cash and non-cash banking transactions efficiently and accurately while delivering premier customer service.
  • Cross sell products and services to meet customer financial needs and identify referral opportunities.
  • Balance cash drawers daily and reconcile Vault and ATM on a regularly with precision.
  • Actively contributes to achieving both personal and branch goals.
  • Adhere to all retail and bank policies, audit and compliance guidelines, and complete required training on time.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Records transactions by logging night/day drops, security checklist, cashier’s checks and other special services, preparing currency transaction reports.
  • Reconcile cash drawers by verifying transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins, reconciling loan coupons, and turning in excess or mutilated currency.
  • Comply with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, including neatness and punctuality.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by safeguarding confidential information.
  • Provide impeccable customer service and communicate professionally with all clients and colleagues; greet each customer with a friendly smile and positive attitude.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all banking products, services, systems, and procedures.
