Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles (GAAP), and supporting overall financial reporting and analysis for the organization. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the Controller with general ledger activities, journal entries, and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Perform balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, including variance and trend analysis.
  • Manage corporate credit card transactions and employee expense reports, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and timely submission to Payroll.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including invoice processing, payments, cash application, and collections follow-up.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare Ad Hoc reports, support statutory filings, and contribute to process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software 
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments and meet deadlines.
