Job Description: Must be willing to listen, learn and communicate with Project manager, Superintendent, Foreman, or other General laborers to complete tasks and overall job successfully. This also includes having proficient Safety skills, Quality workmanship and a Trustworthy reputation to provide the utmost degree of value in every task that you perform.
Responsibilities:
A laborer is required to perform intensive physical construction labor duties such as hand digging while utilizing various tools and methods around all underground utilities for service and main work that is being performed. This will include but not limited to digging trenches and/or ditches, backfill and compacting in addition to skilled technical work that is related to the installation, maintenance, and operation of natural gas facilities which will be performed under the supervision of a gas foreman. In addition, as a Laborer it is imperative to have proficient safety skills, quality workmanship and a trustworthy reputation to provide the utmost degree of value in every task that you perform.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the crew with the construction and installation of natural gas meters
- Maintain a high level of expertise in the assistance in installation and repair gas meters
- Thorough knowledge of the hazards associated with working around natural gas, heavy equipment at/near trenches and all the additional safety precautions.
- The ability to navigate through the gas construction standards and O&Ms associated with each task that is being performed.
- Must be willing to listen, learn and communicate effectively with the project manager, superintendent, foreman or other general laborers to complete each given task and overall job successfully.
- Lift/carry materials and performs other duties involving the use of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to hand dig with a shovel and dig bars.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
- The ability to travel to a new location upon request at any time throughout assigned TECO area
- Avoiding the use of a cell phone while working.
- Adhere to the safety standards as defined by Precision Pipeline Solutions, safety standards and procedures.
- Proper utilization of your Stop Work/Time Out Responsibility, this needs to be utilized when there is a change in work conditions that hasn’t been communicated, when equipment is improperly used, or even if there is a lack of knowledge for a task that is being performed.
- Pass all Operator Qualifications that are required to perform each task.
- Valid driver’s license for at least 1 year.
- Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Ability to load, carry, lift, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required
- Effective communication skills and ability to speak clearly with team members
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to act with integrity and respect of personal and public property
- Ability to work in all types of weather
- Conduct yourself in a safe manner and be mindful of team members safety as well
- Ability to work independently and part of a team environment
