Job Summary
The Director of Imaging and Brand Sound is responsible for shaping how Hope Media Group’s brands sound, feel, and connect emotionally with listeners. This role defines and evolves each brand’s sonic identity, ensuring imaging is clear, distinctive, and aligned with mission and audience.
Working in close partnership with the Director of Production and Audio Ministry, Program Directors, and cross-functional teams, this role champions brand sound and imaging excellence while sharing responsibility for the overall creative audio vision. Together, these two director roles raise the bar on sound and storytelling—positioning Hope Media Group as a leader whose creativity and innovation are second to none in faith-based media.
Essential Functions:
Imaging & Brand Sound Leadership
- Champion the sonic identity and imaging philosophy for all Hope Media Group brands
- Lead imaging execution and refresh cycles to ensure sound remains current, emotional, and unmistakably aligned with brand values
- Direct the creation of high-impact imaging, promos, and brand audio elements across platforms
- Partner closely with Program Directors to translate programming vision into compelling brand sound
- Help ensure each brand maintains a distinct audio identity while contributing to a unified ministry voice
Shared Creative Leadership & Audio Excellence
- Share responsibility for ministry audio, underwriting, and donor storytelling alongside the Director of Production and Audio Ministry
- Participate in underwriting and ministry audio decisions, ensuring creative excellence and FCC compliance
- Maintain high standards of sound design, writing, and production quality across all creative audio
- Collaborate on production systems, workflows, and delivery standards
- Innovate audio across broadcast, streaming, podcasting, video audio design, and social platforms
Podcasting, Digital Audio & Programming Support
- Support the Programming department through audio editing, production, and creative consultation for podcasts, digital-first content, and on-demand audio
- Edit and enhance podcast content, ensuring strong sound quality, pacing, and listener engagement
- Collaborate with Programming and Digital teams to adapt imaging and brand audio for digital platforms and emerging formats
- Help establish audio standards and best practices that extend brand sound consistently into digital spaces
- Contribute creatively to new programming initiatives that expand audience reach beyond traditional broadcast
Team Development & Operations
- Provide creative leadership and mentoring to producers, creatives, and partners as the department evolves
- Collaborate on contractor and external partner relationships supporting imaging and brand sound needs
- Help build systems that support creativity, clarity, and collaboration
- Foster a creative culture marked by unity, experimentation, and excellence
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelors in audio engineering, broadcast engineering, media, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years leading a fast-moving production or creative audio team – preferably in radio, agency or multiplatform media.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expert in digital audio workstations (Adobe Audition or Pro Tools preferred).
- Strong understanding of FCC rules for non-commercial underwriting.
- Strategic thinker who can assess team structure, identify gaps, and build for scale.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling ability; can translate emotion into sound.
- Collaborative leader comfortable navigating both creative and operational priorities.
- Heart for Christian ministry
- Strong moral character
- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
- Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
