About the Role
Overview

The Experience + Devices (E+D) Growth team is seeking engineers to accelerate the adoption of Copilot and Microsoft 365. Positioned at the strategic center of E+D, the team revolutionizes productivity by delivering embedded experiences across the Microsoft 365 suite—including Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel—that drive the growth of generative AI solutions for commercial and consumer customers. The solutions delivered have a direct impact on business outcomes.

As a Software Engineer, you implement and test well-scoped features with guidance, using data and customer insights to iterate and improve. The team operates as a modern engineering organization, embodying industry best practices in Product-Led Growth (PLG). Collaboration with PMs, designers, data scientists, user researchers, and marketers enables the development of deep customer insights that inform experiences used by hundreds of millions daily. Team members partner across Microsoft to deliver world-class services and create experiences that connect with customers throughout Microsoft products.

Responsibilities
  • Designs secure, reliable, scalable, and sustainable software.
  • Develops, validates, releases, and derives insights from software that enhances customer experiences.
  • Champions customer-first design to increase loyalty to Copilot and Microsoft 365.
  • Applies critical analysis to data to validate hypotheses and inform decisions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with front-end development in an industry setting.
  • 1+ years of experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with backend development, preferably using ASP.NET Core/C# or other modern server-side technologies.
  • Demonstrates ability to ship high-quality software on time.
  • Applies problem-solving skills and works effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Shows passion for customers, design thinking, data analysis, and technology.
  • Performs at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Software Engineering IC2.

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
