Our Client is a well-established mining company in Nigeria, recognized for its commitment to safety and excellence in operations. We are looking for an HR and Admin Officer to provide human resources support services at site in Jos, Pleateu state.
Job Description
The Human Resources & Admin Officer will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, payroll administration, compliance, performance management, and employee relations. The role ensures effective HR operations, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of a positive employee experience aligned with organisational objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Source, screen, and shortlist qualified candidates in line with workforce requirements.
Coordinate and schedule interviews with relevant stakeholders.
Conduct reference checks and background verification for selected candidates.
Manage employment offers and ensure timely issuance of offer letters.
Facilitate employee onboarding and induction programmes as required.
Support monthly payroll processing and in a timely manner.
Prepare, update, and maintain accurate employee records and identity documentation.
Draft employment contracts, HR policies, and related documentation where applicable.
Ensure full compliance with labour laws, regulations, and internal HR policies.
Manage disciplinary processes and grievance procedures in line with company policy.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for employees.
Facilitate performance appraisal processes.
Support succession planning initiatives and workforce development strategies.
Provide day-to-day HR operational support to employees and management.
Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and mediation.
Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding processes effectively.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements
1–2 years of work experience as an HR Officer, preferably in mining or heavy industrial environments.
Physical ability to work in challenging conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and diverse environmental settings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to speak berom will be an advantage.
