Job Description

As General Manager of ibis Rotterdam City Centre, you are an inspiring and innovative leader with the vision and experience to run a successful hospitality business. You oversee hotel operations to maximize profitability and ensure exceptional guest service and product quality. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing annual and long-term strategies for operations, sales, marketing, and financial goals to meet or exceed owner and corporate expectations.

Through strong coaching skills, you grow talent within Accor, enhancing employee experience and engagement. Together with your team, you optimize service standards and guest satisfaction. You represent the hotel professionally to owners and Accor, maintain strong community networks, and ensure brand consistency and successful project implementation.

Leading ibis Rotterdam City Centre requires flexibility. You manage a diverse, multi-generational team of 20 in a flat, multi-skilled organization with limited reporting lines. You report to both owners and Accor, requiring excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management, financial, and analytical skills.

You will be responsible for:

    • Leading the business
    • Lead the overall management and strategic direction of the property and support all departments in the achievement of operational targets
    • Maximize the property in terms of profit and management of financials
    • Ensure full compliance with operating controls and legislation in all areas of the business
  • Building your team
    • Actively involved in the recruitment process of positions within the property to select the best fit
    • Champion employee engagement and promote a collaborative and inclusive environment where all employees are encouraged to provide input
    • Develop relationships within the local community
  • Driving service culture
    • Maintain product and service quality standards to exceed guest expectations
    • Promote the brand and ensure all brand essentials and standards are in place and executed consistently.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • The position is offered for a fulltime employment
  • This role is excellent as a first time General Manager Position. We do require prior working experience of at least 3 years as Operations/ Hotel/ Departmental Manager where you were part of the Hotel’s Management Team.
  • Proven experience in leading a dynamic team with an informal working culture and where roles were multi-skilled
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or hospitality management or equivalent
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • Good understanding and know-how of the current hospitality market of Rotterdam
  • Good analytical skills, you know how to set-up, measure and steer the right KPIs
  • Experience with owners and managers relationships and multi-stakeholder management
  • Must be strategic, creative and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals, backed up by data and analysis
  • Excellent networking, speaking and presentation skills
  • Bottom-line oriented with emphasis on high quality guest-service and coaching leadership skills
