About the Role

Description

We are now hiring for a Part-Time RN (24 hours per week) for our SW Center located near 138th & Q Street. CRCC's operating hours are 6:30am to 5:30pm. Must be able to do some open and closing shifts.

Nurses are responsible for assessing and providing care within the scope of their educational preparation and knowledge; permitted by the policies and procedures of CRCC and permitted by local, state and federal guidelines.


Essential Functions: (May vary by setting and/or client)

  • Responsible for providing nursing care through all phases of care taking into consideration age and developmental needs
  • Reviews and updates client Plans of Care as health status changes and at least as frequently as needed by due date for authorization renewals.
  • Participates and represents the mission and philosophy of CRCC and the nursing service to the community in a positive fashion.
  • Recognizes that CRCC is dedicated to providing quality care to all clients in the program.
  • Provides emergency care as needed to clients, staff or visitors at Children's Respite Care Center and calls for an Emergency Medical Team if the condition rises to the level of need that requires more advanced medical intervention.
  • Provides employees with employee health related as needed.
  • Recognizes the importance of participating in continuing education, reviewing modules, and attending in-service programs in order to promote nursing professionalism and personal nursing wisdom.
  • Maintains confidentiality of the client and families to which care is provided by maintaining HIPAA guidelines in regards to verbal, written or electronically transmitted exchanges.
  • Demonstrates overall professionalism as an RN/LPN and observes ethically prescribed professional patient-nurse boundaries.
  • Assists DON with maintenance of own personnel records by completing trainings and turning in certifications
  • Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling availability by accepting shifts as needed to provide safe client care. 
  •  Is responsive to the direction of the DON, Lead RN, and Client Service Team.
  • Prepares for each scheduled shift by reading written report. Assists in continuity of care by providing a verbal and or written report after every shift.
  • Assumes assigned responsibilities without the need of continuous supervision, sets priorities, follows through in an organized manner by economically using time, materials and effort.
  • Participates in cleaning of the client’s medical and/or CRCC supplies and equipment.
  • Adheres to work schedule and daily time schedule.
  • Asks questions and seeks assistance as needed.

  • For Casual and Part-time employees'- who work 15-29 hours per week and Part-time 30 plus hours worked per week, who work at least 80 hours of consecutive employment in a calendar year, will accrue one hour per each 30 hours worked with an accrual cap of 56 hours. 
  • Holiday policy  for paid holidays for part-time staff that average 15 to 35 hours a week, will be paid the average daily hours worked up to a maximum of 4 hours. 
  • CRCC employees' who work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for health, dental and vision benefits.

Requirements

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensing: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse with an active Nebraska license
  • Training and Experience: 1 Year of current pediatric experience preferred
  • Demonstrates professional knowledge and integrity through references from past education and/or job experiences.
  • Maintenance of current BLS certification
  • Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations, maintains strict confidentiality of client information
  • Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare profession
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (face mask, goggles, gloves) as needed
  • Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
  • Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate
  • Able to meet agency’s conditions of employment regarding health status and clearance with the Nebraska Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry and/or Adult Abuse/Neglect Registry and the Nebraska State Patrol
  • Able to lift up to fifty pounds and practices two person lifting for clients over fifty pounds
  • Casual status nurses are responsible for working a minimum of one shift every 8 weeks.
