POSITION SUMMARY: At BHA, the Registered Nurse (RN) performs community health nursing services in the group homes; and to provide client centered counseling, education and information concerning all medical care. You will support the Residential/Group Homes in addition to other divisions within Behavioral Health Allies.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
  • Must hold a current MO and KS state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing;
  • Prior Nurse education experience within behavioral health or group home settings is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • CPR Certification - BLS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide face-to-face evaluation with individuals in their home to include assessment of individual’s specific issues.
  2. Review all medical charting and medical appointment summaries to ensure compliance with Department of Mental Health.
  3. Review, analyze, and interpret lab results. Ensure that the agency has a protocol established for necessary labs and follow-up.
  4. Review on a minimum monthly basis of physician’s orders for physician signature, accuracy and staff compliance.
  5. Review on a minimum monthly basis of the medication administration record (MAR) for accuracy (compare to orders) and employee compliance, medication labels, monitor for side effects, effectiveness, frequency of PRN use, drug storage of routine and PRN medications, and check for supporting diagnosis.
  6. Review and closely monitor individual(s) weight, immunization records, bowel, vitals, blood sugar, dietary, fluids, seizure, menses, skin, range of motion, consultation reports, event reports for falls, injuries, PRN psychotropic meds and medication errors, hospitalization and ER reports, and significant change in behavior, etc.
  7. Provide delegated nursing tasks/specialized instruction/supervision for the needs of the individual.
  8. Keep accurate patient records; maintain confidentiality at all times.

Starting Salary: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $75,000 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications as well participation in BHA's bonus program.
