About the Role
<p>Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. <strong>We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our growing team.</strong></p><p><strong>This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.</strong></p><p><strong>POSITION DESCRIPTION&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Off-Shift Differential of $12,000 Annually Applies for Swing and Weekend Shift.</strong></p><p>We are looking for a new team member to join us as a Quality Engineer to ensure our products meet internal and external compliance requirements. Successful candidates are eager to tackle large complex projects with interesting problems in a fast-paced team environment.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>A Quality Engineer at Janicki works within an engineering team to:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><ul><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Develops, promotes, and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Creates advancements in current quality engineering practices</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Coordinates day to day activities of quality engineering and inspector staff in support of production</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Retrieves, reviews, and analyzes QA data for driving continuous improvement initiatives</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Performs statistical data analysis and identifies quality improvement opportunities</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Performs evidence-based root cause analysis and corrective actions.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Monitors the application of improvement initiatives</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Works with process &amp; program owners to prepare, analyze and improve quality metrics for management &amp; program reviews</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Reviews new or modified documents, procedures, diagram, and/or flow charts, to determine if they will perform according to user request and conform to contractual, AS9100 or QMS requirements</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Participates in contract reviews; document and disseminate information gleaned to pertinent parties</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Research best practices to impact quality improvement initiatives and utilization standards</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Identifies and recommends procedures and workflow improvements. Works with others to develop and streamline workflow</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Collects, and assists with, developing and analyzing quality measurement data</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Provides training to enable employees to meet consistent quality standards</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Participates in internal, regulatory and customer audits</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Participates and/or leads appropriate project work</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Performs inspection activities as needed, using common hand tools, drawings, CAD models, etc. These may be receiving, in-process, source, or final</span></li><li><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines</span></li><li>Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).</li><li><span dir="ltr">This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).&nbsp;&nbsp;Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.</span></li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering or other technical field required. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED</li><li>Manufacturing experience, including experience in composite fabrication with practical application of quality assurance a plus</li><li>Commercial/military aerospace experience is preferred</li><li>Must have demonstrated excellent communication skills</li><li>Must have strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases</li></ul><p><strong>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Salary range for this role is between <strong>$83,000 - $145,000</strong>, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki&rsquo;s estimate of the base compensation for this role.
