Inspectors thoroughly examine drill pipe body, connections, and end areas checking for discontinuities and wall loss. Inspections ensure the pipe meets or exceeds API requirements while following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection duties primarily on drill pipe and pipe related coatings
- Visually and dimensionally inspect pipe and/or pipe coatings
- Maintain records of inspection as necessary
- Perform minor repairs and cleaning to the equipment and facilities keeping them in a safe condition
- Help maintain inventory of supplies and/or shop equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain a good attendance record
- Work weekends and be on call as scheduled
Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Able to read, understand and apply all standard operating procedures and field inspection criteria
- Fluency in, and can read, write, understand, and communicate in the English language
- Clean driving record
- Have a working knowledge of basic mathematics
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
- Strong commitment to safety
- Good customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- High School or GED preferred
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as background check
- Previous oilfield experience is preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in adverse conditions (heat and cold)
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, balance, climb, and reach overhead.
- Must be able to handle (using both hands and arms and rotation of the hand or wrist).
- Must be able to manipulate fingers to pick, pinch or, otherwise working with fingers primarily.
- You must be able to walk, sit and stand for an extended period.
- Must be able to carry, push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to engage in coherent speech and possess the capacity to hear loud and soft noises.
