Job Summary:

Avfuel Corporation provides fuel and services to the global aviation industry.  Our fast growing company has been in business since 1973 and is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Avfuel is the leading independent supplier of aviation fuels and services to Fixed Base Operators and a diverse market of specialty carriers including airlines, freight companies, military special operations, helicopter users, and corporate flight departments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Initial point of contact for customers 
  • Trip planning
  • Worldwide forecasting 
  • Computer flight planning
  • Creating hardcopy weather briefings
  • Requesting and confirming worldwide services
  • Problem solving
  • Customer service
  • Shift work varying days/nights/weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Basic knowledge of common aviation terms and business aircraft 
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to sustain professionalism under extreme pressure.    
  • High level of problem solving skills necessary 
  • Proficient computer and typing skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Windows based program.   
  • Must have a strong geographic knowledge
  • Ability to work a varying schedule including nights and weekends at times

Education and Experience:

  • 2 years’ international trip planning or part 91/135 scheduling dispatching experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Aviation or Meteorology
  • FAA dispatchers license preferred 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.  
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
