Business Title:
- TRUCK SHOP MECHANIC

Job Purpose:
- To diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of trucks, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. This includes conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing necessary repairs to various truck systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in trucks and trailers, including brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in various truck components, utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and identify potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
- Order and manage inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and drivers regarding the status of repairs and maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations within the shop environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- May be required to perform road calls or emergency repairs as needed.

 

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience as a truck mechanic
- Experience with diesel engines
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Experience with electrical systems
- Experience with brake systems
- Experience with preventative maintenance

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools
