Position Summary:

Collaborates with Sales and Marketing to develop regional marketing programs and tools for Greater China.  Facilitates development of business within the region by translating market insights and knowledge into compelling positioning, marketing communications, product development, and competitive selling strategies. Develops and implements regional marketing programs to build awareness, educate prospects, create demand, retain customers and increase sales.

                                               

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement product marketing plan, budget and ROl management.
  • Product lifecycle management, work closely with global counterpart and China functional team to build up product pathway and go to market plan
  • Sales enablement including selling tools, product training and testing,
  • Collaborates with Sales and Marketing to develop regional marketing programs and tools for Greater China.
  • Facilitates development of business within the region by translating market insights and knowledge into compelling positioning, marketing communications, product development, and competitive selling strategies.
  • Develops and implements regional marketing programs to build awareness, educate prospects, create demand, retain customers and increase sales.
  • People management and talent development

  • New Product Introduction

  • Launch Coordination activities which include working with Platform Product Management to identify and if possible pro-actively address critical sales issues associated with product launches in the region
  • Participate in product launch pre-calls, follow up with Platform Product Management and Regional Sales Management to identify gaps and potential remedies, escalate critical issues as appropriate. Review product launch report with Product Management to identify opportunities for launch improvement
  • Plan and support execute New Product Campaigns, primarily with new platforms, including specific regional inputs for strategy adjustment, sales enablement and training, material creation (with global Nucleus) and launch plan coordination

  • Sales Support

  • Providing tools to orient Sales and Sales Specialist to resources and messaging for product solutions, validating messaging through discussions with sales team and customer interactions, working with sales directly to provide higher level training on Illumina solutions
  • Participate in regional events as speaker and technical expert
  • Collaborate with Platform Product Management in formulating and rolling out message programs. 
  • Develop tools to enable sales to bring the latest success stories from other customer sites to customer interactions
     
  • Regional Key Product Promotion 

  • Identify key product focus
  • Promote key products through global and regional promotions
  • Nurture reference sites and KOLs of target product in target segments together with segment marketing and sales
  • Design and execute regional campaigns for key products

  • Competitive Market Analysis 

  • Collect and summarize competitive activities within the Region including competitor install base, lost deals, competitor tactics, and successful ILMN tactics
  • Assist field sales in providing guidance for solution positioning, identification of target customers, and formulation of competitive comparison and unique selling points
  • Provide information and guidance to the revenue planning and quarterly business reviews
  • Based on a clear understanding of customer needs, work with Segment Marketing to develop and drive local marketing activities

  • People manager

  • Hire, coach and lead to build up a strong product marketing team
  • Talent development including coach, training, assignment and timely feedback

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, may require an advanced degree (Master's), in applicable field or equivalent.
  • Typically has 15+ years of related experience, with 7+ years of applicable management experience.
