Oneida Health is currently looking for a full-time Registered Nurse for our Tri-Valley Vernon Practice located in Vernon. In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care and performing nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills in a fast-paced medical office environment. You will be supervised by the providers in the practice and may be responsible for providing guidance to Medical Assistants and LPNs on occasion. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team while treating patients with kindness and consideration.

What You’ll be Great At:

  • Performing and recording key vital signs.
  • Engaging with patients in preparation for a visit with the provider.
  • Being a diligent note taker and reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicating clearly with patients while preparing them for routine physical examinations, routine diagnostic procedures, and selected screening tests.
  • Focusing on cleanliness and accuracy while preparing equipment and supplies.
  • Accurately completing diagnostic request forms and scheduling patients for tests and appointments with outside facilities and specialists.
  • Executing medical orders for specific drugs, treatments, and other diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
  • Applying your knowledge of pharmacology to administer and record medication administration.
  • Educating patients about preventative health measures.
  • Providing guidance and leading non-clinical staff regarding clinical issues (i.e. phone triage).

Your Essential Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Associate of Nursing (Required)
    • Bachelor’s of Nursing (Preferred)
  • License:
    • New York RN (Required)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Nursing: 2 years (Required)
    • Medical office environment: 1 year (Preferred)
