The School of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a full-time (nine-month), tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry position. The position begins in August 2026. The primary teaching responsibility for this position will be in the area of organic chemistry. Preference will be given to applicants with additional expertise in chemical instrumentation and a possible interest in teaching upper-level courses in analytical chemistry. Successful applicants will also be prepared to build an undergraduate research program and to play an active role in the life of the University.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching organic chemistry and other courses that support the chemistry curriculum
- Advising and mentoring students
- Providing service to the Department, University, and professional community
- Engaging in scholarly activities and maintaining active involvement in professional organizations
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned to support the mission of the School of Arts & Sciences and the University
Qualifications
A doctorate in chemistry is required. Qualified ABD candidates will also be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with undergraduate teaching experience and a clear research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students.
