Senior Backend Engineer for Meta Site Republic

In this role, you will provide infrastructure services and develop solutions used across the entire Wix ecosystem, operating at a massive scale. Your focus will include ensuring production stability, reliability, and observability while managing critical flows spanning multiple internal groups. By tackling deep technical challenges

• Develop and maintain infrastructure solutions used by all Wix services to facilitate technical operations
• Ensure production stability by prioritizing reliability, observability, and safe changes to mission-critical systems
• Operate high-volume services at a massive scale, handling millions of sites and billions of applications
• Manage critical cross-organizational flows and account for dependencies across various groups
• Tackle complex technical challenges within systems that require multiple interfaces and integrations

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a significant focus on backend technologies
• Experience with large-scale production web applications and the ability to deep dive into complex applications and architectures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a desire to mentor and help others

We are the Meta Site team, a core backend group responsible for the full lifecycle of Wix sites and applications. We own site publishing, URL generation, and serve as the source of truth for site data across Wix.

As part of the Meta Site Republic, we’re a senior server team working on large-scale, cross-Wix initiatives. Our day-to-day work sits at the heart of the platform and touches many other domains. We focus on building robust, long-term solutions through deep technical discussions, careful design, and a strong bias toward doing things the right way.

Working in this team means being a critical part of nearly every workflow at Wix, directly impacting products used by millions, and handling large-scale services and flows (500 million sites, billions of applications, millions of RPM).
