Job Description

Purpose of the job:

To support the QHSE team in implementing and maintaining management systems that ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company standards.  To assist with promoting a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

Product certification

  • Working with the Quality Manager to ensure that product certification is up to date and available when required including but not limited to ATEX, IECEx, PED, UL, CSA, WRAS, IEC61508 and CCC – Chinese compulsory Certification.
  • Working with Production to ensure that certification requirements to support Sales Orders can be generated and processed effectively.
  • Maintain the certification and standards databases to ensure that the required certificates/standards are available and in the correct locations.
  • Maintain a register so that the applicable certification is visible and available for each product type, extending to generating customer-facing documentation to describe current certifications.
  • Working with the Quality Manager to review updates to standards to understand the implications of any changes to any product certificates/standards.
  • Generate any sales-related certification or documentation requirements, with particular focus on automating this activity, wherever practicable.

Documentation and compliance

  • Maintain accurate QHSE records and documentation to support the activities of the Quality Manager and Senior HSE Engineer.

Training & Awareness

  • Schedule QHSE inductions and training for employees.
  • Assist in developing QHSE training materials and awareness campaigns.

Operational Support

  • Order safety equipment as required to include PPE.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

Qualifications and technical knowledge:

Required:

  • Knowledge of QHSE standards and regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of managing, seeking and maintaining industry product certificates, preferably associated with the listed standards.
  • IOSH certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering or similar environments.

Personal Specification

  • Detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
