Join Valmet as a Finance Summer Trainee and get practical experience in various areas of finance and accounting within an international business environment!

What you will do

You’ll work with global teams, learn how day-to-day finance operations are managed, and contribute to process improvements. Depending on your interests and skills, you can work in one or more of these areas:

• Group Finance & Accounting
  Support reporting, period-end closing, reconciliations, and balance sheet specifications.
• Operational Finance (Order-to-Cash & Procure-to-Pay)
  Assist with accounts receivable, collections, credit management, and payment bookings.
• Cash & Payment Processes
  Learn bank account management, payment runs, and cash forecasting.
• Treasury & Risk Management
  Help with FX hedging, currency risk reporting, and liquidity operations.
• Indirect Tax Accounting
  Contribute to VAT reporting and compliance for international operations.
• Travel & Expense Management
  Audit expense reports, execute payments, and provide system support.
• ERP Transformation & Data Management
  Prepare and analyse financial data for global ERP rollout projects.
• Project Finance
  Assist with project opening/closing, cost structure analysis, and portfolio clean-up.

We have these summer jobs available in our locations in Espoo, Jyväskylä, Tampere, and Vantaa.   

What do we expect from you?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student at university or university of applied sciences in finance, accounting, business economics or a related field
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail as well as systematic and organized working style
• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
• Good working proficiency in IT tools (excel, power BI, ERP system)
• Proactive attitude and flexibility to handle diverse tasks.
