What You'll Do

We have an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced and passionate Community Events Coordinator to join NRMA’s Membership team.  Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organising and executing community events, fostering positive relationships with key external stakeholders including local councils, community organisations and local community groups.

This role is a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home.  There will be intra-state travel and the occasional weekend work required on a quarterly basis.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively engage with local councils, regional associations, and community groups to deliver key NRMA programs and advocacy initiatives
  • Represent our brand at community forums, external events, meetings and conferences
  • Manage community stakeholder relations and support programs such as Outback Links and EV Drive Days
  • Support management through keeping abreast of issues relating to community across the NRMA remit, including developing and advising on coordinated responses to minimise risk
  • Support community and stakeholder engagement for NRMA’s EV Fast Charger project including providing support for EV site acquisitions, launches and local content
  • Assist with the management of the NRMA Heritage Collection and Heritage Vehicle Fleet
  • Coordinate the NRMA Outback Links Program, including staff engagement, content development, stakeholder engagement, and budget management

Wh.at You'll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar co-ordination role within a community, industry body, or government agency
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing small to large scale events
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver stakeholder plans and community programs, particularly across regional and rural locations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship building and collaborative skills for working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to manage processes and budgets effectively
  • Experience engaging with local council representatives and management (preferred not essential)
  • Drivers Licence (essential) and car (preferred).
