About the Role

Description

 The Pod Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple gutter material production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals. This role ensures efficient operations through effective scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, and workforce development. The Pod Leader maintains a clean and organized work environment while minimizing downtime, scrap, and shrink, and collaborates closely with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment remains in optimal working condition. 

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities:


Production & Scheduling

· Plan, organize, and oversee daily production schedules to meet output and quality targets.

· Assign work orders and ensure timely completion in accordance with customer and company requirements.

· Monitor production performance and adjust schedules as needed to meet goals.


Team Leadership & Training

· Lead, motivate, and support production team members within assigned pods.

· Provide on-the-job training to new and existing employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and production standards.

· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement.

 

Safety & Compliance

· Enforce all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

· Verify availability and proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Conduct regular safety checks and address hazards immediately.


Quality, Maintenance Coordination & Efficiency

· Monitor and control scrap and material shrink to maintain production efficiency and cost targets.

· Coordinate daily with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance, address equipment issues, and minimize downtime.

· Communicate production-related equipment concerns promptly to maintenance and follow up on repair completion.

· Ensure all quality standards are met or exceeded on every order.


Inventory & Supplies

· Ensure necessary raw materials, tools, and supplies are available for uninterrupted production.

· Communicate inventory and supply needs with procurement or warehouse teams.


Facility & Equipment Management

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.

· Ensure machinery and equipment are in good working condition through collaboration with maintenance personnel.

· Support maintenance efforts during equipment changeovers, breakdowns, and troubleshooting.


 

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.

· 3+ years of manufacturing or production experience; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

· Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and safety protocols.

· Experience coordinating with maintenance or technical teams in a production environment.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and interpret data accurately.

· Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems a plus).


 

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand, walk, and lift materials (up to 50 lbs.) for extended periods

 · Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
