Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day aircraft maintenance activities to ensure airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness of the fleet. This role provides direct leadership to Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) and support staff, coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance crews in the performance of aircraft inspections, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Kalitta Charters II policies, and manufacturer’s maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor work assignments to guarantee timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to support flight operations.
  • Review, sign, and approve aircraft maintenance documents, including logbook entries, work cards, and non-routine task cards.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to maintenance personnel.
  • Coordinate with maintenance control, flight operations, planning, materials, and quality control to ensure proper workflow and minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Ensure all tooling, equipment, and materials are available, properly maintained, and calibrated for use.
  • Conduct shift briefings, assign work, and monitor performance of maintenance personnel,
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in maintenance operations.
  • Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Investigate and report irregularities, incidents, or discrepancies as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of personnel time, maintenance activities, and aircraft status updates.
  • Ensure a safe working environment stores department personnel.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Minimum of 5 years aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role (Part 121 preferred).
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and standard industry maintenance procedures.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with maintenance teams, management, and flight crews.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operationally required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain airport security clearance (SIDA badge).

Preferred Skills

  • Verifiable experience with Boeing 737 Classic and Boeing 737 NG aircraft
  • Previous airline or MRO supervisory experience.
  • Training in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Human Factors.

Education

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Gen Fam for B737 Classic and/or B737 NG (preferred)

Work Environment & Culture Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with aviation maintenance/enterprise systems (e.g., TRAX, Ramco, Corridor, AMOS, or similar).
  • Candidate must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
  • Candidate should be motivated, resourceful, energetic, organized and able to manage and be managed
  • Candidate must be reliable, punctual and flexible

  • Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Location Requirements:

  • Operation based in Erlanger, KY at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
  • There is no ability to work from home
  • There will be no relocation package for this position

Shift Requirements:

  • Must be available full-time and work overtime when required

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
