SUMMARY: The Compressed Air Technician diagnoses and repairs operational problems with industrial air compressors, pumps, refrigerated air dryers, vacuum and compressed air systems and accessories including installation, start-ups, and repairs as well as monitoring service contracts.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all Class Produce and TGD Cuts safety first philosophy
- Conduct oneself based on Class Produce Core Values at all times
- Attend required vendor training and company sponsored classes
- Maintain stock inventory
- Maintain regular attendance
- Assist with training less experienced personnel
- Maintain records concerning time, labor and materials and logs of tasks performed
- On Call 24/7 as scheduled
- Troubleshoot and repair compressed air, pumps and vacuum systems
- Troubleshoot and repair air dryers and their refrigeration
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Perform system installations or modifications
- Perform Laser alignment and Vibration analysis
- Perform Leak Detection and Air Audits
- Have electrical experience with pumps, refrigerated dryers and air compressors, and the ability to troubleshoot.
- Equipment and system start-up/shutdowns per Manufacturer
- Toggle between projects and responsibilities with ease
- Possess basic experience with computers and wireless communication devices preferred
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematics
Work Schedule:
Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pm
OT and weekend work as required
Salary Range:
$21-$26 per hour
Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma and minimum of two years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience. Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls and Direct Digital Controls, Air Audits, Leak detection, vibration analysis, laser alignment, efficiency testing, refrigeration systems related to air dryers, and electrical is preferred.
TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The employee will have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment applications, pumps, refrigeration related to air dryers, compressed air and vacuum systems. Apprentice or Journeyman License, CFC Certification required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold, and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, rotate or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
