PURPOSE:
The Finance Specialist supports the financial operations of a newly established manufacturing facility. This role works closely with the CFO and collaborates with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and Italy to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing finance background, experience working in SAP, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
DUTIES:
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records in SAP, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for manufacturing operations.
- Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and variances.
- Support standard cost development and maintenance within SAP.
- Collaborate with operations to improve cost visibility and financial controls.
- Work closely with the Italian finance operations teams to align financial processes, reporting requirements, and timelines.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and support global reporting initiatives.
- Assist with intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Support internal controls and financial policies to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Assist with audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Help implement and define finance processes as the facility scales.
- Provide financial analysis and support for business decisions and special projects.
- Support system enhancements, process improvements, and SAP best practices.
- Perform additional finance-related duties as assigned by the CFO.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a start-up or growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with international teams or global organizations.
- Manufacturing cost accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, including collaboration with international teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- On-site presence at our facility in Trotwood, OH.
- Occasional meetings outside standard business hours to support collaboration with our Italian team.
- May require limited travel, domestic or international.
- Will require successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
