About the Role

Job title – Commercial Country Controller

Location – Tokyo, Japan

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

 

Commercial Control (include premix operation)

 

  • Assist in commercial strategy implementation
  • Drive sales & margin outlook and realization
  • Track & trace compared to ASR/RAF/PY on Price/CM/GM/Volume
  • Provide input for the performance dialogues with business management and business controlling, which includes external orientation
  • Analysis on price consistency, rebates, bad debts, DSO and collections
  • Order release after credit risk assessment
  • Monitor and interpret the consolidated CAPEX and OPEX budgeting & forecasting and provide explanation to management
  • Timely, complete, and correct managing and executing of the product costing processes
  • Product costing/ raw material / cycle design & output consumption analysis
  • Support in business cases, DICI transformation etc.
  • Inventory and working capital management
  • Functional Cost Reporting according to Crystal definitions to BGs and Service Units, Global Process Owners and DSM Group Control & Accounting

 

Financial Control

 

Commercial control and Operation control support

  • All month end closing and reporting activities (variances, data entry in SAP, accounts, cost centers, allocation keys, consolidation & reporting)
  • Provides reports (include agreed KPIs) for sales and margin, purchase price variances, stock revaluation/results, efficiencies, OPEX, working capital and CAPEX
  • Optimizes the global product costing process by automation / robotizing / transfer to FSS etc.
  • Supports budgeting & forecasting of sales and operations, incl. manufacturing and M&S costs
  • Ensures that: inventory (volumes) in SAP are reconciled / checked with inventory counts and inventory values are up to date (provisions)
  • Prepares consolidated CAPEX and project reporting
  • Ensures sales data are complete and correct at month end (incl. reconciliation with reporting)

 

Financial control, closing and reporting

  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of month end closing and reporting activities
  • Point of contact for Finance in the country
  • Support budgeting and forecasting process include set up of allocation and distribution cycles and input of budget into SAP
  • Linking pin to sites and units for asset registration and related questions
  • Responsible for solving issues escalated by FSS/PSS/Others regarding reconciliation GL and all sub ledgers (incl. clearing issues)
  • Validate/Analyze financial results Legal Entity / Reporting Unit (Company Code)
  • Work with FSS, PSS and RFC to ensure services are delivered up to standard
  • Give guidance to local financial control employees
  • Support Transfer pricing officer

 

Local Compliance

 

  • Safe guarding the legal compliance in regard to contracts with Customers and suppliers
  • Ensure adequate internal control in the finance function according to COA requirement and standard
  • Acting as local contact for Finance. In some entities, acting as local contact for HR/IT/Legal in the absent of HR/IT/Legal personnel in the entities

 

Statutory and Tax reporting

  • Point of contact to external auditor, company secretary and local authorities
  • Timely, accurate and complete filing of Statutory and tax to local authorities
  • Support reconciliation with DAR reporting incl. IAS12 requirements
  • Co-ordinate and align with DSM Group Tax on tax filing and audit

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/Financial Controlling, and/or CMA, CPA, MBA
  • At least 10 years of experience within several finance positions
  • In-depth understanding of Finance and Accounting processes
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems
  • Having the right capabilities to lead a team
