Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.
Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, nine technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 40,000 machines throughout North America.
Job Summary:
The System Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing technology solutions to meet organizational needs. This role involves evaluating current systems, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop efficient and scalable solutions. The System Analyst serves as a bridge between business teams and IT, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Requirements Gathering and Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes, goals, and challenges.
- Gather, document, and analyze functional and non-functional requirements for systems.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications.
· System Design and Development
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements or new solutions.
- Develop system workflows, data models, and technical diagrams.
- Work with development teams to ensure the design aligns with requirements.
· Implementation and Testing
- Oversee the deployment of new systems or updates to existing systems.
- Coordinate and perform system testing, identifying and resolving issues.
- Ensure systems meet quality standards and user expectations.
· Support and Maintenance
- Provide ongoing support for systems, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
- Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations.
- Maintain system documentation and update as needed.
· Stakeholder Communication and Training
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to users to ensure effective system adoption.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
· Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess system effectiveness.
Requirements
Required Skill/Abilities:
· Proven experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
· Strong understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
· Proficiency in tools such as UML, ERD, or process modeling software.
· Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and enterprise software (e.g., ERP, CRM).
· Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Minimum Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Knowledge of system integration, API design, and data flow processes.
· Hands-on experience with testing and debugging systems.
· Familiarity with cloud platforms and cybersecurity best practices.

· Approximately 5% or less.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
