Wilo USA LLC is a subsidiary of Wilo SE, which is headquartered in Dortmund, Germany. Wilo is a leading manufacturer of pumps & pump systems for water & wastewater treatment, potable water distribution, pressure boosting, and sewage collection. Wilo USA acquired Weil Pump and Scot Pump in 2017, American-Marsh Pumps in 2019, and QuantumFlo in October 2021.  


We are seeking a high-performing Application Sales Engineer to serve as a technical and commercial liaison among customers, sales, and internal teams. This role supports the Building Services sales organization by providing application expertise, product selection, technical guidance, and proposal support to drive profitable growth and deliver customer-focused solutions across commercial and municipal building markets. 


Primary Job Duties:

  • Provide technical application support for Building Services products, including pump selection, sizing, and system recommendations
  • Support Regional Sales Managers and Independent Sales Representatives with technical expertise throughout the sales cycle
  • Analyze customer specifications, drawings, and performance requirements to recommend compliant solutions
  • Prepare technical calculations, pricing inputs, and proposals for bids, tenders, and RFPs
  • Assist with product demonstrations, customer presentations, and training as needed
  • Serve as a technical point of contact to ensure customer requests are addressed accurately and timely
  • Coordinate with engineering, product management, operations, and service teams to resolve technical questions and application challenges
  • Support local and regional marketing activities in alignment with company standards
  • Monitor and document customer feedback related to product performance and application needs
  • Maintain familiarity with competitive offerings, market trends, and applicable codes and standards
  • Support new product introductions and transitions within the Building Services portfolio

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • Experience in application engineering, technical sales, or sales support for engineered products; pump industry experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and system curves
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical explanations to non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative working style
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a broader sales team
