We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Clinical Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting. Behavioral Health Nurse will assist providers with patient care and follow-up, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care.
Duties include, but not limited to interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients and assisting providers with patient exams and/or treatment, continuing responsibility including charting and clerical work as necessary; oversee phone prescriptions and refills to pharmacies. Additionally, this position will perform triage with patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing support to Providers during patient visits, including intake, vital signs, exams, and treatments
- Perform nursing triage for patient phone calls and identify emergent and non-emergent needs
- Administer injections and medications as ordered
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, and follow-up care
- Support patients through all phases of behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment
- Monitor treatment adherence, medication compliance, and relapse prevention needs
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills
- Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current, unencumbered State of Kansas LPN or RN licensure.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Current vaccination record meeting ACIP Healthcare Workers Recommendations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a Family Practice or Behavioral Health setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
