Grace Adventures Ministries  is a religious organization that makes employment decisions on Bible based beliefs and practices. Because of the nature of our Christian program; Christian belief, character, and practice are essential requirements of employment positions. Dunes Harbor Family Camp  is a campus ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries.


SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries  and cast a vision to others. This position oversees all operations implementation of Dunes Harbor Family Camp. This begins with  a culture that lives out the Grace Adventures philosophy of ministry first with staff and then to the guests. The management of all programs,  business services, housekeeping and general grounds and facilities maintenance is under the supervision of this position. 


ASSUMPTIONS:

  1. This person will evaluate and adjust programs according to the feedback received from the constituency  
  2. This person will understand and uphold Grace Adventures philosophy of ministry
  3. Creating culture, casting vision and providing supervision are the core of this position 
  4. This position will  lead all seasonal, part-time, and full-time DHFC staff along with volunteers
  5. Relationships with key individuals, groups, and families will be vitally important for this position. These relationships will be established with integrity and result in a stronger connection to the Shack
  6. This person will communicate (written and oral) the ministry of the Dunes Harbor Family Camp
  7. Collaborative partnerships with other like minded organizations are essential
  8. Ability to work and lead in a team based environment with effective organizational and problem solving skills

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for registration/oversight of all participants (payments and communication with individuals and groups)
  2. Oversee the research, develop, implement and evaluate all ministry programs  for DHFC 
  3. Ensure emotional and physical safety of guests, staff, and volunteers
  4. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training staff for all areas
  5. Supervise all Area Managers and oversee the success of each area of the DHFC Team according to their  specific purpose
  6. Responsible for staffing, on-call and emergency situations
  7. Research, planning and implementation of all current and future financial planning
  8. Development of annual budget and appropriate controls to ensure balanced budget 
  9. Work in conjunction with Marketing and Sales Director to promote Dunes Harbor Family Camp
  10. Work with maintenance to ensure Dunes Harbor property and facilities meet the Grace standard 
  11. Responsible for meeting Federal and State guideline for all current and future business practices 
  12. Work with the Directors/Managers as part of the  Leadership Council Team

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A testimony and lifestyle that gives evidence of a true experience of salvation by grace in Jesus Christ
  2. An attitude of excellence in workmanship
  3. A supportive attitude to the needs of others with a solution oriented mindset
  4. An ability to recruit, plan, direct and supervise the energies of staff and volunteers
  5. A desire to learn and develop new skills
  6. Self-disciplined and self-motivated
  7. Have the physical ability to travel and implement camp activities over a 378 acre campus. At times lifting and carrying is part of the job
  8. Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years Christian camping experience in a related field
  9. Be flexible to change as the greater need of the ministry and fulfillment of the organization’s mission statement requires, by performing any duties as assigned
