At the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), we believe that healing happens in the heart of community. Our team is rooted in Indigenous values of wellness, balance, and respect for all living beings. We serve the Puyallup Tribal community and Native people in the greater Tacoma area, honoring culture, tradition, and connection as essential parts of good health.

We’re looking for a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist who shares our commitment to holistic care — someone who wants to make nutrition meaningful, practical, and empowering for the people we serve.

What You’ll Do:

As part of our interdisciplinary medical team, you’ll bring your Dietitian experience, expertise in nutrition, and your compassion for community to help patients of all ages thrive. Your work will help empower patients to make lasting, healthy changes — grounded in love, culture, and respect.

  • Provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and care plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
  • Collaborate closely with medical, behavioral health, and wellness teams to support patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and chronic pain.
  • Offer group education, workshops, and culturally relevant cooking or wellness classes.
  • Support the WIC Program by developing and implementing nutrition education plans that reflect the cultural values and traditions of the families we serve.
  • Advocate for community health by helping shape nutrition-related policies and wellness initiatives across the organization.

What You Bring:

  • Current WA State certification as a Dietitian.
  • At least (2) years of diabetes education experience preferred.
  • Experience with WIC services/programs and working in an electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • BLS certification and WA State Food Worker Card (or ability to obtain within one month of hire).
  • A spirit of collaboration, curiosity, and cultural humility — and a heart for service in the Indigenous community.

Why PTHA?

We are more than a clinic — we're a culturally grounded, patient-first health and wellness center serving the Indigenous community. We value teamwork, integrity, and community well-being. Here, your work has meaning.

  • Work in a mission-driven, accredited organization
  • Serve a close-knit patient population in an urban reservation setting
  • Enjoy opportunities for professional development and training
  • Make a meaningful difference every day in the lives of families and community members.

  • Meaningful Mission – Contribute to the financial wellness of a tribally operated health organization dedicated to serving the Indigenous community

PTHA Employee Benefits:

  • Supportive environment that values a healthy work/life balance
  • Medical/Dental/Vision monthly premiums paid 100% by PTHA for employees (health coverage begins the first of the month following hire date)
  • (13) annual leave (vacation) days + (13) annual sick leave days
  • (18+) annual paid holidays including a birthday holiday
  • 401(k) with annual profit-sharing contributions after (2) years of service
  • Life and AD&D insurance coverage
  • Have student loans? PTHA is an approved loan repayment site for various student loan programs
