We are seeking a seasoned Technology Project Manager to lead large, complex, and mission-critical technology initiatives as part of the District's capital construction program. This role sits at the intersection of IT, Facilities, and Construction, ensuring that advanced technology systems-network infrastructure, audiovisual environments, and physical security-are full integrated into new and renovated campus facilities.
*Salary Range: $180K/Year-$195K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications
Hybrid Schedule: One (1) work-from-home (WFH) day per week
Key Responsibilities
- Manage 15-20 concurrent technology projects, each with budgets of up to $100M, covering: Data and network infrastructure, Audiovisual systems, and Access control and video surveillance
- Lead coordination meetings with: Architects, Low-voltage and IT consultants, MEP engineers, College Project Teams (CPTs), and District IT staff and system integrators
- Oversee the design, implementation, and commissioning of:
- Physical security systems (e.g., Lenel, Milestone, Axis)
- Audiovisual systems across classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, and athletic facilities (e.g., Extron), ensuring ADA compliance and instructional effectiveness
- Review and validate: Division 27 and 28 designs, Shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for technical accuracy and compliance
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with construction managers and cost estimators
- Oversee commissioning, training, turnover, and close-out documentation in alignment with District IT governance
- Maintain clear, organized project documentation and provide regular status updates to PMO leadership
- Continuously improve delivery processes and technology standards across projects
Qualifications
- 10+ years managing large-scale construction technology or low-voltage IT projects
- Experience delivering projects in higher education or public-sector environments
- Proven success managing AV, network, and physical security systems from design through commissioning
- Hands-on experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and system integrators during active construction
- Strong working knowledge of Division 27 & 28 specifications
- Experience with multiple delivery models (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Lease-Leaseback)
- Proficiency with BIM/Revit, Bluebeam, and construction coordination tools
Preferred Qualifications
- RCDD, PMP, CTS, CCIE, or ASIS certification
- Experience with California Community College facilities or publicly funded projects
- Familiarity with TIA/EIA standards and public-sector bidding processes
- Experience deploying cloud-based IT/facilities systems
- Exposure to air-blown fiber, Cisco, or Aruba network environments
