About the Role

[What the role is]

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.

We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment.

[What you will be working on]

You will contribute to safeguarding Singapore's built environment by supporting the regulation of building maintenance and safety standards. Your responsibilities include:

  • Administering building inspection regimes

  • Processing inspection reports and compliance documentation

  • Supporting enforcement actions against unauthorised building structures

  • Handling public enquiries and feedback on building safety matters

  • Investigating building incidents

  • Contributing to policy development initiatives for building maintenance frameworks

As part of a dynamic organisation, you will also have the opportunity to work on other aspects of building control.

[What we are looking for]

  • A degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, preferably a practising Professional Engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore. Candidates who are not registered PEs but are preparing for registration would also be considered

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in building maintenance, inspection, or architectural finishes, OR at least 4 years of experience in structural design and analysis of buildings

  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills

  • Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
