Job Description

Join our culinary team as a Commis I at the Flying Elephant in Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha! We're seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients
  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions as directed by senior kitchen staff
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness
  • Assist in plating and presentation of dishes
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations during service
  • Perform basic cooking tasks under the supervision of experienced chefs
  • Help with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and recipes

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to use standard kitchen equipment and tools safely and efficiently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively
  • Positive attitude and passion for the culinary arts
