Description

Saint Paul Catholic School in Leesburg, Florida, is seeking substitute teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. The substitute teacher performs the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods of time. A person in this position works on an as-needed basis. The substitute teacher agrees to abide by the educational policies and procedures of the Diocese of Orlando and the Office of Catholic Schools as well as comply with the educational policies and procedures of Saint Paul Catholic School and Parish. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the creation of a Christian atmosphere in school, particularly by beginning each class period with an appropriate prayer.
  • Report to school by 7:30 A.M or when called and available.
  • Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Maintain established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect all students.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect and maintain equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Handle normal discipline in the classroom and enforces classroom rules and procedures.
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or higher.
  • Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. 
  • School employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. 
  • Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
  • All employees of the Diocese of Orlando must be fingerprinted, pass a background check and complete Diocesan safe environment training prior to beginning.
