We’re looking for a hands-on, dependable Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in keeping buildings, grounds, and workspaces safe, functional, and welcoming. In this role, you’ll support daily upkeep, repairs, and improvement projects that help sustain our mission-driven environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform general building maintenance: repair doors, locks, light fixtures, windows, and plumbing fixtures.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, filters, and electrical panels.
• Troubleshoot and perform light electrical work (replace ballasts, outlets, switches, breakers).
• Maintain the appearance and safety of the property by mowing, trimming, snow removal, and lawn care.
• Set up and tear down equipment for chapel services, meetings, employee offices, and company functions.
• Assist with custodial duties such as cleaning offices, hallways, restrooms, and windows.
• Support recycling, deliveries, and furniture setup or relocation.
• Respond to emergency repairs and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.

Skills and Qualifications Needed

• 1+ year of maintenance or facility experience (preferred).
• Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical skills.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying temperatures, and stay active throughout the day.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or on a team.
• A heart for service and a Christ-centered attitude toward teamwork and stewardship.

Schedule & Environment

• Full-time, on-site role at our Carol Stream, IL campus.
• Seasonal flexibility — early starts or occasional weekend work during peak maintenance periods.
