ABOUT THE ROLE
Salary dependent on qualifications, skills and experience
You will be responsible for maximising product value by defining the product vision, translating customer and business needs into actionable requirements, and prioritising the product backlog. You will serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that product enhancements are delivered efficiently and align with strategic goals. By serving as the bridge between business needs and technical solutions, you will be critical in creating clarity, reducing risk and ensuring that our solution truly solves business problems, adds value and aligns with customer’s strategic goals. You will act as the voice of the customer and business within the development team, owning the product backlog and guiding the team to deliver high-value features that align with the product strategy.
You will be part of a team consisting of Project Management, Software Development, Testing, Support and Business Analysis. This is a full lifecycle position where you will initially support the Sales team as the system expert and then work with new clients through to project completion.
You will be responsible for large, complex, strategic projects dealing with cross functional teams and senior leaders. You will work independently with minimal supervision and have significant influence and clout when questioning existing processes and designing new ones.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap
- Own, manage, and prioritise the product backlog
- Work with stakeholders to analyse, investigate and identify business needs, problems, inefficiencies and opportunities
- Make decisions on scope, priority, and acceptance of work and refine solutions as needed
- Use and apply various analysis and modeling techniques to document clear, business and technology requirements
- Translate needs into clear, structured requirements and user stories for developers, testers and project teams
- Collaborate with senior business and IT stakeholders to test and validate that proposed solutions align with original and altering business objectives
- Support testing and help confirm that the final product meets requirements
- Facilitate communication by acting as the link between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure delivered features meet user expectations and business goals
- Balance customer value, business impact, and technical constraints
- Advise on business change priorities in the context of organisational strategy
- Produce analysis artefacts throughout the business change lifecycle
- Ensure continuous assessment of progress to specification and changes to requirements
- Monitor product performance and collect feedback for continuous improvement
- Required to travel locally and overseas
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Essential
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a business related or technical field
- Business Analysis professional certification (IIBA - CBAP etc)
- 4 years+ experience as a Business Analyst working for a software company on IT transport/logistics projects
Skills & Experience
- Strategic thinking with attention to detail
- Proficiency with a range of modeling and analysis techniques and acceptance criteria - Business Requirements Documents, user cases, wire frames, process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams and technical specifications etc
- Ability to effectively communicate, engage and build consensus with senior stakeholders, technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability and confidence to navigate conflicting priorities and negotiate outcomes; challenge existing processes to find better solutions; and take an holistic view, connecting projects to the overall organisational strategy
- Build relationships and trust through a strong understanding of customer needs and user experience
- Deep knowledge of Technology / SaaS and Transport/post/logistics industries
- Analytical thinker with the ability to investigate, break down complex problems, evaluate data and identify patterns, risks, and opportunities and problem solve
- Have the confidence to question assumptions, probe, influence and find creative solutions to complex business issues
- Ability to ensure requirements are accurate, complete, and consistent
- Be comfortable with systems, data, system integration and technology and understand how software and processes fit together
- Skilled at eliciting information through active listening at interviews, workshops and observations
- Able to gain a handle and understanding of customer’s constraints in the project
- Able to successfully interpret business needs and translate them into practical, operational requirements which are documented in technical specifications
- Adept in decision facilitation skills by defining all the decisions that need to be made while facilitating the process and buy in from all stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise effectively and make data driven decisions
