Job description:
MES Life Safety is seeking an Outside Sales Representative covering the counties in eastern Massachusettes. You will play a crucial role in driving our success while enjoying the opportunity for professional growth within our organization!
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, conducting product demonstrations, and effectively managing a designated sales territory. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to analyze market trends to identify new opportunities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- 8-12 sales calls per week
- Attendance at trade shows and professional meetings in the territory, 2-4 per month.
- Selling across the line card
- Keeping crm database updated
- Prompt lead follow-up
- Sales of instruments and service plans
- Trouble-shooting problems with products, coordinating with the factory for resolution
- Developing new business through cold calling, lead follow up, and referrals from existing accounts
- Maintaining relationships with existing accounts by providing a high level of service, pro-active introduction of new products, and an up-to-date knowledge of regulatory issues and trends
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to potential clients.
- Engage in direct sales activities, including cold calling and lead generation, to expand the customer base.
- Manage assigned territory effectively, ensuring consistent follow-up with leads and existing customers.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners and clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials that support sales initiatives.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience in technical sales, preferably to the industrial/manufacturing/fire markets.
- Must be: a self-starter willing to learn new products and applications; organized; adept with CRM and MS office software;
- Honest and ethical; and looking for a long-term outside sales position in a territory.
- Strong skills in lead generation and territory management.
- Ability to conduct engaging product demos that effectively communicate value propositions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building rapport with clients.
- Proficient in analyzing data to inform sales strategies and decision-making processes.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset, capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with CRM software is a plus but not required.
