Key Responsibilities

  • Assist shipping and receiving employees in daily operations 
  • Create and maintain bills of lading, packing lists, and pick tickets 
  • Generate transfer orders for shipment 
  • Schedule LTL orders and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries 
  • Receive and process incoming materials accurately and timely 
  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries with freight carriers 
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation 
  • Work with Purchasing and Production to plan adequate storage space for incoming materials 
  • Maintain organized files to ensure compliance with customer requirements and audit standards 
  • Partner with the Dock Supervisor to address issues within the Shipping and Receiving department 
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints, working toward effective resolution 
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed 
  • Maintain and organize warehouse inventory 
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within logistics and warehouse operations

Requirements

 Education / Certificates / Licenses / Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Experience in creating shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, pick tickets)
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with freight carriers
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal systems
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Willingness to assist with physical tasks related to shipping and receiving when needed

Working Environment

This position is located in a production/processing environment, which may involve:

  • Cold temperatures ranging from 45°F with occasional exposure to freezer environments as low as -10°F
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Standing and working on concrete floors for extended periods
  • Fast-paced, physically demanding tasks in a team-oriented setting
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols
