About the Role

Description

Summary/Objective: Physical therapists help people with physical injuries or illnesses of to regain range of movement and control their pain. Physical therapists, or PTs, help people who have lost motor function due to accidents, illness or age. They help determine the root causes of the trauma, counsel patients, and work with them to create a plan for rehabilitation.


Essential Functions

  • Evaluate patients to obtain data necessary for treatment.
  • Provide physical therapy treatment to patients per the Plan of Care and in accordance with the physician’s prescription.
  • Maintain required documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with department requirements.
  • Effectively supervise and promote clinical development of LPTA’s, rehab techs, interns, and volunteers.
  • Maintain an appropriate daily schedule to maximize departmental efficiency and ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Participate in educational and professional activities that enhance self, co-workers, and patient care.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program. Advanced clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, industrial medicine, neurology, rheumatology or gerontology preferred. Current Florida licensure required.


Preferred Education and Experience: Two years of clinical experience, with 1 in an outpatient setting preferred.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications: CPR certification within 3 months of employment
