POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Food Service Coordinator, you will work alongside the Senior Director of Food Services to help ensure children and families across our community have access to nutritious meals. You will support the daily operations of the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina’s food programs, help CACFP and SFSP run smoothly, and contribute ideas and energy to grow these programs and expand their impact.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support compliance and good standing for CACFP and SFSP sponsorships.
- Coordinate food ordering, inventory management, and distribution for claiming and non-claiming sites using DAXKO, including weekly pull charts and Monday pickups.
- Manage shelf-stable food inventory, returns, and redistribution, including daily sorting and coordination with community partners.
- Verify, record, and file weekly CACFP attendance and meal counts; maintain accurate Excel records; communicate with site coordinators; and submit documentation by required deadlines.
- Assist with SFSP meal counts, bulk delivery receipts, and rural non-congregate meal distribution, including loading vans and site operations.
- Ensure availability of CACFP/SFSP supplies, including meal count sheets, menus, labor sheets, and related materials.
- Maintain required fire, sanitation, and compliance documentation for CACFP afterschool sites.
- Conduct required CACFP and SFSP site monitoring, maintain monitoring databases, and upload completed reviews to SharePoint within two days.
- Participate in required trainings, workshops, conferences, staff meetings, and staff training sessions.
- Support program growth initiatives, the Annual Campaign, and perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Food Services.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. One years’ experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and/or Summer Food Service Program
in an administrative capacity.
2. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.
3. Three years experience working with afterschool and summer camp programs in a developmental
setting preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus.
4. Ability to work well with people and a sensitivity to the needs of children and families.
5. Computer skills and knowledge of windows, excel, adobe and word at an intermediate or advanced
level.
6. Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities. Be able to physically lift and move boxes that may weigh
20+ pounds on a regular basis.
YMCA SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
CPR & First Aid – Must be able to complete and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid; able to assist individuals in need until professional help arrives.
Emergency Response – Ability to quickly identify emergency situations (medical, fire, environmental, etc.) and respond appropriately following established procedures.
Incident Management – Required to report all safety incidents and hazards immediately and accurately to supervisors.
Safe Environment – Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment for all staff, members, and participants.
Physical Readiness – Must be able to perform physical tasks related to safety, including assisting individuals of various ages and physical abilities.
Compliance – Follow all YMCA safety protocols, OSHA standards, and state/local regulations as applicable.
