Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Fundamental subjects: Sustainability & Climate Action
- Teach, assess, facilitate tutorials/workshops and monitor students’ learning in flipped classroom methodology using tools such as Brightspace, ClassPoint, Canva and MS Teams.
- As part of the teaching team, contribute to planning and development of relevant teaching materials, assessment strategies and curriculum.
- Incorporate active learning strategies and real-world/industry relevant contexts in the teaching materials and delivery.
- Assist Subject Leader in the administration of the subject.
- Support experiential learning activities to develop and deliver activities, workshops, and local learning journeys.
Industry Engagement and Partnership Building
- Proactively engage sustainability companies to be updated on current industry news and trends; global and regional developments; and explore experiential learning opportunities.
- Develop collaborative opportunities with industry partners to support department or poly-wide programmes, conferences and projects.
- Foster positive relationships with good standing Institutes of Higher Learning (local and overseas), Non-Governmental Organisations, Government departments.
Student Development and Academic Related Tasks
- Serve as Advisor to Student Interest Groups to guide and mentor students in activities, projects and competitions to support holistic learning and skills development.
- Represent IR/CTS in academic or sustainability related TP-wide work groups/committees.
- Support ad-hoc projects and additional duties as necessary at department level e.g. committee work, outreach, student exchanges, student overseas study trips.
- Continuous professional development to enhance pedagogical and administrative capabilities.
[What we are looking for]
- Professional certification in the field of sustainability and minimum three to five years of relevant work experience.
- Teaching and/or Student Development experience preferred, with ability to motivate students.
- Digitally savvy, aware of emerging technologies and able to leverage digital tools for teaching, problem solving, data management.
- Interest in global and regional issues related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Eager to engage and understand local and overseas partners.
- Cultural sensitivity, critical thinking, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate high level of professionalism and collaborative attitude to drive polytechnic and department goals; and achieve positive outcomes.
