About the Role

Morgan Stanley’s Firmwide AI organization is seeking a Vice President of AI Data Operations & Strategy to lead the delivery of a unified data framework that powers how the firm measures, manages, and optimizes the value of AI.

This results-driven leader will build and scale the systems, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure that transform AI data—on usage, ROI, engagement, investment, and performance—into actionable intelligence for decision-makers across the enterprise.

As the bridge between business strategy, technology, and analytics, this individual will ensure AI data is structured, governed, and activated to drive measurable outcomes. Their work will enable transparency, accountability, and insight across Morgan Stanley’s AI portfolio—ensuring every initiative delivers tangible business value.

Key Responsibilities

·Deliver and operationalize a firmwide AI data strategy, ensuring consistent data capture, integration, and analysis across business units.

·Build and manage AI data pipelines and analytics systems that provide a single source of truth for AI adoption, investment, and performance metrics.

·Develop and maintain a unified AI measurement framework to track usage, ROI, engagement, and outcomes across divisions.

  • Own and deliver executive dashboards and visualization tools that provide real-time insight into AI performance and value creation.
  • Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, proactively identifying opportunities where AI data can unlock business value.

·Lead cross-functional delivery of data integrations and reporting solutions in partnership with Technology, Strategy, and Finance.

·Implement scalable data governance processes, ensuring clear metric definitions, documentation, taxonomy management, and version control.

·Translate business strategy into operational analytics ensuring data solutions directly support strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

·Drive automation and continuous improvement in data collection, quality, and reporting efficiency across AI initiatives.

·Enable data storytelling and adoption, empowering business leaders with tools and insights that inform investment, innovation, and execution decisions.

·Champion execution discipline, ensuring all AI data initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with demonstrable business impact.

Required Skills & Experience

·Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

·6+ years of experience in data strategy, analytics delivery, or business intelligence within large, complex organizations.

·Proven ability to translate business objectives into measurable data frameworks and execute analytics initiatives end-to-end, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.

·Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing dashboards and data products in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.

·Strong understanding of data architecture, system integration, and governance principles, with a track record of scaling analytics solutions at the enterprise level.

·Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into executive-level narratives.

·Strong project management skills and comfort with leading agile, cross-functional delivery efforts.

  • Executive stakeholder management, with the ability to influence outcomes and gain buy-in across diverse teams.

Preferred Skills & Experience

·Experience defining and tracking AI and machine learning performance metrics in enterprise or transformation settings.

·Familiarity with data engineering and analytics environments such as Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, Python, or Alteryx.

·Background in data product design, metadata management, and multi-system integration.

·Experience in financial services, management consulting, or technology strategy.

·Proven success influencing and collaborating at senior levels in matrixed global environments.

·Understanding of data visualization best practices for executive and enterprise-level decision-making.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
