Armis secures Fortune 100, 200 and 500 companies as well as&nbsp;national governments, state and local entities to help keep critical&nbsp;infrastructure, economies and society stay safe and secure 24/7.</p> <p>Armis is a&nbsp;privately held company headquartered in California.</p></div><div>We are looking for a&nbsp;<strong>Hands-On Software Architect</strong>&nbsp;to join our architecture group and work alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the industry.<br><br></div> <div>As a Hands-On Architect, you will actively design, build, and evolve large-scale software systems, set technical direction, and work day-to-day with development teams, product, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.<br><br></div> <div>If you are passionate about making real impact, enjoy solving hard problems end-to-end, and thrive in distributed systems that process&nbsp;<strong>billions of events per day</strong>, we’d love to talk.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></span></div> <div> <ul> <li>Lead the&nbsp;<strong>design and implementation</strong>&nbsp;of complex, distributed software systems in production.</li> <li>Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into&nbsp;<strong>practical, scalable architectures</strong>.</li> <li>Define and drive&nbsp;<strong>engineering standards</strong>: architecture patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and operational best practices.</li> <li>Stay&nbsp;<strong>hands-on</strong>: write code, review code, and participate in technical problem-solving across teams.</li> <li>Mentor and coach developers and tech leads, raising the overall technical bar.</li> <li>Review designs and implementations to ensure solutions are&nbsp;<strong>high-quality, maintainable, and resilient</strong>.</li> <li>Continuously evaluate new technologies and approaches, recommending improvements where they provide clear value.</li> <li>Be involved in&nbsp;<strong>production systems</strong>: deployments, observability, performance tuning, and incident analysis.</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What we expect</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><strong>8+ years</strong>&nbsp;of experience in software development, system design, and architecture roles.</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with modern backend technologies such as&nbsp;<strong>Java and/or Python</strong>.</li> <li>Practical experience with&nbsp;<strong>containerized and cloud-native systems</strong>&nbsp;(Docker, Kubernetes, AWS / Azure / GCP).</li> <li>Experience designing and operating&nbsp;<strong>distributed systems</strong>, including messaging or streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark).</li> <li>Solid understanding of distributed databases (and non-distributed) such as&nbsp;<strong>Postgres, Cassandra, SingleStore</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Clikhouse</strong>&nbsp;or similar technologies.</li> <li>Deep knowledge of engineering best practices:&nbsp;<strong>CI/CD, DevOps, testing, security, and agile development</strong>.</li> <li>Proven experience working with&nbsp;<strong>production environments</strong>, including deployment pipelines, monitoring, and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance&nbsp;<strong>ideal architecture with real-world constraints</strong>.</li> <li>Natural technical leadership: able to influence, mentor, and collaborate without relying on authority.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.</li> <li>B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.</li> </ul> </div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The choices you make in your career journey matter.
