We are seeking to hire a Chicago Airfield Discpline Leader!

You will have the opportunity to lead, develop and deliver projects of varying sizes and complexity, initiate and maintain client contact and assist the team in winning the work.

 

As a Chicago Airfield Discipline Leader, activities include serving over on large, complex multidiscipline projects and typically directs/mentors discipline associates and Project Managers in professional, technical, and operational best practices. You will independently direct the development and evaluation of engineering reports and plans and specification criteria for a variety of projects, as well as supervise engineering design development, design detailing, code analysis, construction document production, construction administration, coordination with project teams, client communication, proposal coordination, marketing, presentations, and management of other discipline-related activities. To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent disciplines from an accredited ABET university
  • Minimum 20 years of experience with 5+ years in Civil design of airport-related facilities at medium and/or large hub airports
  • Illinois PE registration or ability to obtain within 6 months of starting
  • Previous project management and team leader experience
  • Ability to travel across the region to existing/potential Airport Clients
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required for use in completing an assignment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and mentoring engineering staff
  • Experience working on General Engineering Consultant (GEC) contracts or as a senior member of a GEC team
  • Experience in Civil design of airport-related facilities at medium and/or large hub airports
  • Proven ability and desire in the areas of marketing, business development, quality management and associate development
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D
