All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
Overview
This is a pro-bono volunteer position.
JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8. Funds a are raised through corporate donation, employee donations, individual donors and grants.
The donations management team is in charge of:
- Maintain knowledge about the Corporate Platforms (Benevity, Easymatch, etc.)
- Update JerseySTEM information in the corporate platforms
- Uncover new funding opportunities with these platforms
Responsibilities
A- Operations:
- A,1) Platform Maintenance
- Maintaining Credentials to the platforms.
- Updating Address, WEbsite, ACH information, and other details relative to JErseySTEM in those platforms
- A.2) Donations Processing
- A.2.1 Timely Record all donations received in the Corporate Platforms in Salesforce
- A.2.2 Issue Thank you letters
- A.3) Volunteer Grant Management
- A.3.1 Track volunteer hours for JerseySTEM volunteers who are part of a DOers4Dollars program
- A.3.2 Communicate with new volunteers who might work for a Dollars4Doers program and make them aware of the opportunity to support JerseySTEM.
B- Development
- B.1: Investigate opportunity with the existing platforms and understand how corporations use them to promote Donations, Volunteering,..amongst their employees.
- B.2 Research, Identify and Explore new platforms JerseySTEM might not already be part of today
How success is measured in this role
You will be measured against the following Key Performance Indicators:
- How long it takes for a received donation to be recorded in Salesforce
- How long it takes for a donor to receive their thank you letter
- New related funding/fundraising opportunities uncovered
- How updated is the JerseySTEM information in the Platforms
Qualifications
- Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
- Attention to detail
- Resourceful, can-do attitude
- Comfortable with learning web based platforms
- Social Impact experience, Human Resources, Corporate sponsored employee programs a pls
- Experience leading a function (i.e. team, department manager, etc) and managing others or desire to do so
- Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)
Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week
