About this role | Mō te tūranga mahi

The Sensitive Claims Service provides support to anyone in Aotearoa New Zealand, including visitors to the country who have experienced sexual abuse or assault in New Zealand.

The Recovery Partner Mental Injury team acts as a facilitator between clients, treatment providers, suppliers, and other agencies.

In this position, you will work with clients throughout their recovery process. The role includes engaging in discussions with clients and providers, as well as reviewing medical information and provider reports. You will identify individual client needs and preferences and align these with the entitlements and services funded by ACC or other contracted agencies. Tasks include approving clinical recommendations or offering feedback to providers and clients on available options, supporting informed decision-making and managing expectations proactively.

Sensitive claims can be complex and may require extended timeframes. Effective prioritisation, proactive time management, analytical review of information, and sound judgement within established guidelines are essential for this position.

The role may involve exposure to challenging information. ACC provides a collaborative environment and access to various support mechanisms, including training and professional supervision.

The indicative starting salary for this role will be $77,502*. This is exclusive of ACC's 9% superannuation contribution which would bring the total starting package to $84,477

With complex mental injury clients, you understand the importance of the very first engagement with ACC and managing the client through the most acute immediate engagement with us and will continue to manage and partner the client until their needs stabilise.

  • Understanding of mental injury and client engagement through appropriate communications, engagement and building trust
  • Managing a complex workload, which incorporates empathy and trust while providing robust and appropriate well-being services 
  • Experience establishing and building relationships with clients and family – understanding the importance diversity and inclusion through recovery
  • Proven experience in creating effective partnerships across the health sector to achieve meaningful client outcomes.
